I have been writing and reporting at every chance I've had since I was 15. Now, as a senior in college I have bylines at my high school paper, my college paper, the Boston Globe, Boston.com and NASA. Click below to view my work.
Below is a summary of my involvement and experience.
Huntington News | 2020 - 2023
I joined Northeastern's independent student-run newspaper as soon as I could, before I had even taken a college class. Since my first story, I have been deeply involved in the organization for more than three years. I currently serve as editor-at-large — an advisory role to the top editors of the paper, designed to assist with any issues and answer questions. I was appointed to that position in the spring of 2023. Prior to this role, I had the pleasure of being the editor-in-chief for a year (2022). As editor, I was responsible for editing every piece of content we produce, guiding the editorial direction of the paper, running weekly meetings, mentoring editors and reporters and overseeing everything else involved in publishing a print paper and online publication. In the spring of 2021 I served as a deputy campus editor and in the fall of 2021 I served as the campus editor.

NASA | 2023
Following my science writing dreams, I applied for a social media and science communications position at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. From January through May of 2023 I worked full time on the Hubble Space Telescope out reach team. I was involved in brainstorming, planning and drafting social media posts for all of Hubble's accounts including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I also wrote a variety of articles and landing pages for the center. My primary project during my internship was creating an ebook for Hubble's 35th anniversary. I curated, designed and wrote all the content for a 115-page draft of the book. I returned on a part-time basis in the fall of 2023 to move this project closer to completion.
Boston.com | 2022
I worked for six months at Boston.com as a full-time general assignment reporter. Everyday I would get assignments from my editors ranging from quick hit pieces based on press releases to long form articles requiring several interviews. I wrote over 250 articles in the first six months, churning out anywhere from two to five pieces a day. I also had the opportunity to pitch some pieces, both for quick turn arounds and long-term projects. I amassed more than 3.6 million page views, and more than 4.75 cumulative years of engaged minutes on my pieces.
This experience gave me a taste for what it is like to do journalism full time. Student journalism is amazing, but as a student journalist you are always balancing it with school and other extracurriculars. Being able to devote all day, every day to writing was a really amazing experience. It was so good that I stayed on part time through the fall 2022 semester while I am in classes. |
SLP Echo | 2017-2020
In high school I served as the editor-in-chief of St. Louis Park High School's student-run paper Echo for a year and a half. I, along with my co-editor, was responsible for the editorial decisions, running daily staff meetings and overseeing the publication of a print paper and web content. I led our coverage of both George Floyd's murder, which happened about three miles from my school, as well as the ever changing COVID-19 situation in the spring of 2020.
My work for Echo earned me the title of 2020 Minnesota Journalist of the Year and one of six runner-ups in the 2020 National Journalist of the Year competition. The portfolio for those competitions lives on this website. |
