In the first five minutes of my freshman year, an Echo was shoved into my arms. I was overwhelmed by the awe of being in highschool and to be honest ignored the paper. I had no intention of ever joining staff. But fast forward a year and I’m walking into my first Echo class.
Journalism has grown to mean more to me than an extracurricular I picked up in high school. It is a career path. It is an integral part of who I am. I never would have dreamed I would be in a position to apply for Journalist of the Year, much less win Minnesota Journalist of the Year and be one of six runner up's in the National High School Journalist of the Year competition. This is the portfolio I submitted to those competitions. This website has been updated to reflect my more recent work, but the JOY portfolio is unchanged. |

My Work.
Over the last three years on staff, I have spent countless hours working on Echo. As a result, I have amassed a large body of work in many different areas of the publication. I have touched every part of Echo, from every print edition, to our website, to all our social media and our multimedia outlets.
